You will need a USTA ranking or equivalent to play in HITL. If you've never played USTA, you can get an idea of your USTA ranking by self rating according to the guidelines published Self Rating Guidelines on the USTA's web site.
You can get a club pro to estimate your ranking as an alternative to having a HITL ranking. One of the league officers can provide you with contact information for getting yourself rated for play.
